COSMETIC PESTICIDES
On Earth Day, we sent a letter of congratulations to the Hon. John Gerretsen, the Minister of the Environment commending him on the passage and proclamation of Bill 64, the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act.
We take advantage of this to continue to ask for two items:
- continued provision of educational materials to the people of Ontario as they make the transition from chemical dependence and the concept of perfect lawns, to natural gardening,
- an eventual end to the exemption given to golf courses
CFUW Ontario Council is very concerned that the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act has yet to be proclaimed. A letter has been sent to the Minister of the Environment and the Premier expressing our fears about the situation.
Comments are sent to the Ministry of the Environment concerning the regulations for the Bill 64, the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act
